I'd wanted to make a pasty for a while and not just because I like the name. Dana and I visited Cornwall and little is better than a pint and a pasty. Following the recipe resulted in a pretty thick disk but it was exhausting trying to get them thinner. I cooked the potato and leeks and bacon .. added cheese and cream and some spices Egg wash and crimping and cooking (I forgot to slit them to release the steam) All in all I think they came out OK for a first time Not sure if I'd do them from scratch again since I can buy the pastry in the store, but it was good to do once. I've got it out of my system now.
