Cycling et al

A better day cycling today.

Not a very exciting loop (I did it twice) but decent mileage

I doubled my distance today and still felt pretty good.  Had a flat tire towards the end but I've replaced dozens of them over the years so it was not a big deal.  Minor annoyance.  The replacement had a flat by the time I got home so I may have something actually stuck in my time I could not find while on the road.  I can figure that out and test it before going too far.

There are a couple of good matches in the US Open today.  Teenage girls and Djokovic.  I've never seen a tournament with fewer well known players and a higher level of play.  The matches are full of people who have just arrived or have been waiting in the wings all stepping up to amaze and impress.  It has been fun to discover half a dozen players I've never heard of and watch them pull out shots I've never seen before.  The crowd is an NYC crowd as always, rocking the stands.

As always, I miss playing when I see these matches.  Miss the time on the court with my son.  We sucked as a doubles team and loved every minute of it.
